First, I want to begin by thanking for reading my first blog!! This something I have wanted to do for a while, by a while, I mean a couple of years!! But enough with the self-doubt, I have finally started my blog and I am so excited to share it with everyone!
Goals Vs. Resolutions
This first blog is about making goals versus making resolutions, in the new year. Thanks to google, I have found the meanings of both! A goal is “the object of a person’s ambition or effort; an aim or desired result.” While the meaning of resolution is “a firm decision to do or not to do something.” I like to think that making goals in the new year is better than making resolutions; at least for me. No one knows what exactly will happen to them throughout a year, so you can’t really make a firm decision when you don’t know your circumstances for the whole year. With a goal, you are aiming to do better for yourself, which means that yours goals are constantly on your mind! What that being said, here are my goals for twenty seventeen!!
Goal One: This Blog!
I am so excited to put myself out there. As I said before I doubted myself. Thinking things like who will actually read what I write and how will I get subscribers. I have realized you just have to take a leap of faith. You never know unless you try and that is exactly what I am doing! I hope for this blog to be inspiring to others and an outlet from your everyday life!
Goal Two: My health and fitness
Now this was once one of my resolutions, my senior year of high school, I got a gym membership and everything! I had my membership for about four months and I count on the both of my hands how many times I actually went to the gym… But that will not happen this time around. Throughout the past couple of weeks, I have been working out at least three to four times a week and I am feeling pretty good. I have been following along with the Alexa Jean Fitness Program and I am really liking it!
I also need to start drinking more water. I always seem to forget that coffee dehydrates you rather than hydrating you. Saying things like coffee has water in it! Therefore, I have tumbler cup that I fill up a couple times throughout the day to keep me hydrated
Goal Three: Journal
Next is my journal! Throughout the past month, I have been journaling more. It is a great way to relieve stress! I have started to get into bullet journaling; Pinterest has given me plenty of ideas and I can’t wait to use them throughout the year. Another big thing I use Pinterest for are qoutes, so I may start a quote journal also.
Goal Four: My Faith
I have realized in the past year, that the closer I am to Jesus the more I learn about myself; I absolutely love learning more about myself and the people around me! Through Jesus I see the world in such a brighter way. I have learned that I have been much slower to anger and have much more of a genuine happiness. I thank God for His guidance every day, if I didn’t have His guidance I wouldn’t have started this blog!
Thanks for reading! Again, these are my opinions, if you think something different comment below!!
Side note: You don’t have to wait for a new year to make goals for yourself. If you are motivated and determined to complete your goals, that is all you need!
