Dieting Vs. Healthy Eating and Living
Hey Everyone!! This week I am writing about eating styles. This something that is really important! When I hear someone say they dieting it sometimes makes my ears ring, so then I wait for them to explain what exactly they are changing in their eating style. There is a difference between limiting what you eat and eating things that are healthy for you and will give you energy throughout the day!
The definition of diet is “the kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats” (google). The second definition from google is “a special course of food to which one restricts oneself, either to lose weight or for medical reasons.” Now the definition of healthy eating from breastcancer.org is “eating a variety of foods that give you the nutrients you need to maintain your health, feel good, and have energy. These nutrients include protein, carbohydrates, fat, water, vitamins, and minerals.”
Eating healthy does not mean eating smaller portions. When you limit yourself from eating your body holds on the onto the fat you already have, rather than you losing the fat you lose muscle. This way you will also lose energy. Eating less of what is good for you is bad for your overall health!
Healthy eating and living!
When you eat healthy foods you will have more energy and live more balanced. So, what you can do is eat small meals throughout the day that have a lot of nutrients for your body. What that would be is to have a big breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, small dinner, and a snack after that depending on when you ate dinner.
This is always true for me! Once you have figured out what foods your body likes and also what makes you balanced, it will be easier to be a healthy you! I’ve learned that I can’t have coffee after a certain time in the day otherwise it will be more difficult for me to go to sleep. When in high school I could drink coffee and go right to sleep. Healthy living is all about learning your bodies response to what you eat and do!
My Favorite Healthy Meal Right Now!
I saute veggie crumbles, cut spinach and 3 pepper and onion blend in a pan for about 5 minutes and put it in a bowl. Once its in the bowl I add a dressing to the top of it and mix it up.
If you wanted to try this you don’t have to use veggie crumbles, you can always use regular ground meat, this is just what I like to use!
These are my opinions and what I have heard and works for many people!
Have a great rest of your week!!!
