I never didn’t like going to church, but I personally was missing a crucial part in being in relationship with God. That was the Gospel. Understanding the Gospel is a crucial part of our relationship with God. We learn that because of Jesus we are able to live an eternal life. Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice in order for us to have a relationship with God.
Willing to be Broken
God is going to put you through some hard times, but only so that He can lift you up. You learn from those difficult times and what you learn will help the people around you to live a better life in Christ.
I worked all last year (with the help of a friend) with my college to figure out a way for me to graduate in three years, instead of four. It was difficult for me, but definitely could have been a simple process. Some adults look as younger people like me and you and doubt what we can truly do, that is exactly what they were doing to me. This made me also doubt that I would be able to graduate next year.
What I forgot in this long process, was that none of it was up to me, but God. What we need to remember is that what we do is not up to us, but if we give it to Jesus it will all be worked out.
I was able to turn my application for field in with a couple days left before the deadline.. All I could think was “It Is Finished,” because it was that Jesus handled it for me.
So, I want to relate what it could mean to you, to be broken. Maybe you don’t have a boyfriend and you really want one, because you see everyone on social media with one. Jesus could be waiting to put the right person in your life until you are in the right place in your spiritual journey. Some times it is just better to wait anyways, because you don’t want to end up in the wrong kind of relationship. You want to be with someone who loves everything about you, the good and bad! (I’ll have a separate post on this soon!)
Spend time reading the Gospel!
The translation of Gospel is good news. Reading the Gospel is so fulfilling because we learn so much about Jesus. He was constantly tempted, but He never gave in. In the Gospel we find eternal life through Jesus. The gospel helps us to live a life free of guilt, shame, hate, etc. God wants us to live in love and freedom in Him!
We are tempted every day and sometimes we give in to the temptation. It’s okay though, because He died for our sins. I was just sinned a little bit ago when someone was riding to close to my car on the interstate, yelled at them to go around. Yet they continued, so I turned my Jesus music up, got in the right lane and let them go past and let Jesus handle it. In the end, they ended up getting way behind me in traffic.
We’re not perfect and Jesus knows that. We’ll never be perfect, we are BORN SINNERS. He knows were going to sin. Jesus wants us to realize our sins and repent so that we can return to Him.
Remember you are not perfect and you don’t have to always get it right. Jesus is on your side.
Happy Hump Day! I hope the rest of your week is amazing!!
