Favorite Bible Verses

Hey Yall! Today’s post is a collab with Nikki! We gathered some our favorite bible verses from the bible to share with you! I hope you enjoy!!

Hey Friends! My name is Nikki from the blog HerDaringThoughts, this summer I have been reading the book of Timothy in the bible and I finally finished it last week. Every single book in the bible has knowledge that is evident in our daily life, but there is something about Paul’s wisdom and words that convicts in more ways than one.  I am going to share with you some of my favorite verses that specifically come from the book of Timothy in which Paul is in prison and writing letters to Timothy and basically disciplining & encouraging him. I hope you are able to take it in and let God convict you with these verses as he did for me!

1 Timothy 3-5

“ Endure suffering along with me as a good solider of Christ Jesus. Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them”

Being a Christian in this society is far from easy. There are so many temptations, tribulations, and persecutions. What we fail to realize when we give our lives to Christ is that life doesn’t get any easier but we have hope that our Savior will never lead us astray. I believe this is what Paul is trying to reassure us, to not let the chaos of this world distract you and always keep your eyes focused on the one who breathed life into you.

1 Timothy 5

“ The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith”

This verse is what I think we should constantly strive to attain in our everyday life. Not just because it will make you a “good person” if you are pure in heart, but mainly because Jesus Christ is all of these things and more. When I read this I couldn’t help but pray that every day I am living a life that portrays the life Jesus lived over 2000 years again.

2 Timothy 21

“If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. You will be clean; you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work”

I love this verse. I love this verse because to me it is basically another way of saying that in order for God to use you, you have to be set apart from everyone else. Let this be our prayer that we can be pure in mind, body and soul so that evidently God can use us to spread the good news on to all the world.

1 Timothy 16

“This is the great mystery of our faith… Christ was revealed in a human body & vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory”

I was taken aback by the details of this verse and how precise Paul was when describing who and where we get our hope and faith from. I do not know about you but every time I am reminded that Jesus came down in human form in order to not only save us but connect with us on a personal level, I start to think.. What other religion really has such a Lord that pours out everlasting love and mercy the way Jesus Christ did? “He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory”. This line alone just shows the greatness of our father and  that the same way he left in glory is the same way he will return, that is our faith. Amazing.
